Introduction: In the Beni region, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the association Tous engaged pour la peace et le développement (TEPD) launched an appeal to women to become more involved in the search for peace. This initiative aims to promote participatory female leadership and encourage each individual to become a peacemaker. This article highlights this meeting and the commitments made by the women of Beni.

Development :
The TEPD association organized a meeting in which around twenty military, police and civilian women from the Beni region participated. Under the theme “How to involve women to become more involved in the search for peace in the Beni region”, this meeting benefited from the support of the public information section of MONUSCO, the United Nations Mission. for stabilization in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The objective of this meeting was to explore ways to promote participatory female leadership, where every woman would be considered a key actor in the search for peace. The participants pledged to be actively involved in denouncing any suspicious behavior that could compromise the peace and security of the community.

Sylvie Mweru, from the NGO Peace Forum of Beni, underlines the importance of the involvement of women in the search for peace. She says that if women get more involved, peace can return to the region. She also insists that women must be ready to report any suspicious movements, even if it concerns their own children. The government’s protection of women is also a key element in ensuring their success in this mission.
