Tout Puissant Mazembe of Lubumbashi once again showed their dominance by winning a crushing victory in their fourth meeting at the 29th edition of LINAFOOT. This time, it was against the Union Sportive Panda B52 of Likasi that the Ravens showed off their talent, winning with a score of 4-0.
The match started at a leisurely pace for half an hour, but TP Mazembe then accelerated and opened the score just before half-time. The club’s new nugget, Malian Cheikh Fofana, scored his first goal in Ligue 1 in the 30th minute. With a superb shot, he found a small space between three Panda defenders to send the ball into the back of the net.
Nigerien striker Boubacar Soumana Haïnikoye, making only his second appearance for Mazembe, also scored his second goal of the season in the second half, making the score 2-0 in favor of his team.
In the 74th minute, the Lebanese Ataya was brought down in the penalty area, which earned TP Mazembe a penalty. Ataya took it upon himself to execute it and transformed the opportunity into a goal, making the score 3-0. Finally, it was the entry into play of Badamassi Ousseini which sealed the fate of the match, by scoring the fourth and final goal of the match.
With this new victory, TP Mazembe, led by Franco-Senegalese Mamadou Lamine Ndiaye, now has 12 points in 4 games, the same number of points as FC Saint Éloi Lupopo. The two clubs are the only representatives from the DRC still competing for the CAF interclub competitions.
TP Mazembe therefore continues its impressive journey in LINAFOOT and once again confirms its status as an essential club in Congolese football. Supporters can already look forward to the great performances to come and hope that this winning dynamic continues throughout the season.
