The 19th edition of the Fevoco Cup (Congo Volleyball Federation) begins this Sunday, September 24 in the newly built hall of the General Commission of the Congolese National Police (PNC) in the commune of Lingwala. This sporting event is highly anticipated because it marks a significant step forward for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with the use of an indoor venue for the first time in its history.
This edition of the Fevoco Cup presents an exciting program for volleyball fans. The matches start at 8 a.m. with the meeting between Ouragan and Matala in the women’s category. Then, at 10 a.m., UBUNTU will face New Law. In the men’s category, the highlight match of the day will pit Green Team against Impala at 12 p.m., followed by the meeting between Madaka and Free Boys at 2 p.m. Finally, at 3 p.m., Espoir will cross swords with Police/kin.
The competition is divided into several groups. In the ladies category, the teams are divided into groups A and B, while in the men’s category, the teams are divided into groups A, B and C. Each team will have to surpass themselves to hope to win the cup.
This edition of the Fevoco Cup is an opportunity for players and teams to demonstrate their talent and compete to win the champion title. The organizers did everything possible to make this event a success, after the previous edition which took place in Kolwezi in Greater Katanga.
Through this competition, Fevoco and Congolese volleyball continue to develop and gain visibility. The construction of the covered hall of the PNC General Commission is an important step in the progression of sport in the DRC. This demonstrates the commitment of the authorities and sports stakeholders to support and promote volleyball in the country.
