The “Jeunesse Sénégal” association has just launched an innovative initiative to allow young people from the suburb of Guédiawaye in Dakar to fully enjoy their vacation. Called “Summer Guedbeach”, this holiday camp offers a secure setting to entertain and develop young people who do not have the necessary means to go on vacation.
Indeed, many young people in Senegal no longer have access to beaches, which are increasingly privatized. “Summer Guedbeach” thus aims to offer a leisure space to these young people by allowing them in particular to enjoy Guédiawaye beach, where swimming is normally prohibited. This initiative also aims to combat illegal migration by offering young people stimulating and entertaining activities.
Through this holiday camp, the Jeunesse Sénégal consortium therefore wishes to offer young people from Guédiawaye the opportunity to flourish and have fun in a secure environment, while avoiding them having to spend money on privatized beaches or risk sanctions by going swimming in prohibited areas.
This initiative will be extended to other locations in Senegal and will thus allow a greater number of young people to be able to enjoy their vacations in optimal conditions.
In conclusion, “Summer Guedbeach” is a project which aims to offer young people from the suburb of Guédiawaye an alternative for an entertaining and fulfilling vacation. By offering them a secure environment and stimulating activities, this holiday camp contributes to the fight against illegal migration and offers young people an opportunity to flourish without having to spend large sums of money or take risks.
