The article published on the Fatshimetrie.org blog on September 24, 2023 highlights the important mission of the Central Coordination Office (BCeCo) in the current local development program. The Director General, Jean Mabi Mulumba, traveled to the Kasai Central province to supervise and inspect various ongoing projects.
The first site visited by the BCeCo delegation was the administrative building of the Dibaya Territory. The work, entrusted to SMEs, started in April 2023 and has progressed considerably since then. Jean Mabi’s visit was aimed at verifying whether the quality of the work respected the standards established in the specifications. The opportunity was also taken to raise awareness among the population of Dibaya on the importance of the local development program.
The second day of the mission focused on visiting the new morgue of the Kananga provincial general hospital. The work is progressing quickly, arousing joy and gratitude from the local population towards the head of state.
The BCeCo delegation then inspected the urban road works in Kananga. Several arteries of the city were visited, including Bakwa Bisamba Avenue, Dibindji Avenue and Nkonko Avenue. The road stabilization work and construction of water evacuation channels reached a completion rate of more than 70%.
The local development program has not neglected the education and health sector. The Muana Bute primary school and the Matamba health center, located in the Kazumba territory, were visited by the BCeCo delegation.
Finally, the mission concluded with a visit to the Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji road widening works. This road is of capital importance for the population, because it opens up several provinces of the DRC and facilitates trade with southern Africa, Europe and other continents through the port of Lobito in Angola.
The work carried out by the Central Coordination Office as part of the local development program is therefore crucial to improving the infrastructure and living conditions of the Congolese populations. The progress noted during this monitoring and inspection mission shows the commitment and desire of BCeCo to carry out this mission successfully. The success of the local development program will depend on the involvement of all stakeholders and the ownership of this project by local communities.
