Being a provincial commissioner of the Congolese National Police (PNC) is not an easy task. This requires an ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of police officers. This is why the sub-divisional commissioner François Kabeya Makosa of Tshopo recently made a commitment to improve the health care of the police officers under his command and their dependents.
During a parade held at the central camp of Kisangani, Commissioner Kabeya Makosa sensitized his troops on the importance of a solid mutual health insurance and the need for regular contributions for its proper functioning. Its goal is to reduce deaths and medical complications that occur due to lack of adequate medical care.
Aware of the difficulties faced by the local PNC hospital in terms of supply of medicines, the commissioner called on all police officers to contribute by providing pharmaceutical products to the hospital. He stressed that this contribution was voluntary, but played an essential role in improving the health of police officers and their families.
The parade was also an opportunity for the commissioner to call undisciplined police officers to order. He warned against behaviors such as loitering, reminding that police officers should not go to places where they are not officially assigned. He insisted that discipline and following orders were essential in police work.
Beyond internal awareness, the commissioner also sought the collaboration of the population by encouraging them to inform the police of any suspicious acts in their neighborhoods. He stressed that the police were present day and night to respond to all alerts and that cooperation with the community was essential to ensure the safety of all.
In conclusion, Deputy Commissioner François Kabeya Makosa took concrete measures to improve the health care of Tshopo police officers. His awareness of the importance of mutual health insurance and his call for the voluntary contribution of police officers show his commitment to the well-being of his troops. In addition to this, he also recalls the importance of discipline and respect for orders within the police. Together, these actions contribute to strengthening the confidence and effectiveness of the PNC in the Tshopo region.
