DRC and Zambia close historic session of defense and security cooperation

Lubumbashi, DRC – The Deputy Prime Minister of Interior, Security and Customary Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Peter Kazadi, recently closed the 12th ordinary session of the DRC-Zambia joint defense and security commission. This meeting, which was held in Lubumbashi, brought together delegations from the two countries as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps.

In his speech, Minister Kazadi paid tribute to Presidents Félix Tshisekedi (DRC) and Hakainde Hichilema (Zambia) for holding this session, emphasizing the firm desire of the two countries to consolidate their bilateral cooperation. He also stressed the importance of implementing the agreements concluded between the DRC and Zambia in different areas of common interest.

This 12th session was an opportunity for the two countries to strengthen their ties and commit to working together for peace and security. Since 2021, the DRC and Zambia have signed several bilateral agreements, notably in the field of electric batteries and border security.
