Exceptional effort by the Kinshasa police to guarantee the safety of residents
Police in the city of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, recently deployed a special unit to reinforce security in areas known to be at risk. This initiative follows new missions entrusted by the provincial executive with the aim of guaranteeing the security of populations and their property 24 hours a day.
The Deputy Divisional Commissioner, Blaise Kilimbambalimba, clearly outlined the objectives of this unit during an official ceremony. The police officers’ main mission is to fight against crime, by putting an end to the activities of the Kulunas, these groups of delinquents which are rampant in the Congolese capital. Armed robberies and kidnappings are also among the priorities of this special unit.
In order to carry out this mission, the Kinshasa police have adequate resources. A suitable car cart as well as new outfits were made available to the agents. The latter will thus be able to patrol and ensure a constant presence in risk areas, thus meeting the expectations of residents.
In the interest of proximity and responsiveness, the Kinshasa police have also set up an alert system for residents. In case of problems, simply call the following numbers: +243 903982039 and +243 900003921.
This initiative was greeted with caution by the population, who expect concrete results in terms of security. However, it is undeniable that the efforts made by the Kinshasa police demonstrate a real desire to fight crime and ensure the safety of residents.
In short, this special unit of the Kinshasa police represents an important step towards the eradication of criminal acts in the Congolese capital. The results of this initiative will be closely scrutinized, in the hope of a significant improvement in security for the inhabitants of Kinshasa.
