“High quality schools built in Kasaï-Oriental thanks to the Local Development Program of the 145 territories”

Satisfaction of schools built as part of the Local Development Program for 145 territories (PDL 145) in Kasaï-Oriental

In Kasai-Oriental, officials and students of schools built as part of the Local Development Program for 145 Territories (PDL 145) express their satisfaction with these new infrastructures. Indeed, these schools offer improved study conditions for students and optimal working conditions for teachers.

In the Lupatapata territory, for example, three schools have been built and are ready for use from September. These are the Bakua Tshilanda EP, the Bakua Nzevu EP and the Bakua Tshibuyi EP. These schools are being equipped with desks by companies that won the calls for tenders launched by the Central Coordination Office (BCECO).

Before the construction of these new infrastructures, students studied in precarious conditions. Some buildings were made from bamboo, vines and earth, and there wasn’t even a blackboard for teachers. The new schools therefore offer a real learning space adapted to the needs of students.

In addition, these schools are also equipped with solar kits to ensure the supply of electrical energy to the buildings. This allows students and teachers to benefit from sufficient lighting, even in areas where access to electricity is limited.

According to Jean Mabi, general director of BCECO, all schools built under PDL 145 follow a standard model. This guarantees a certain coherence in the educational infrastructures of the territory and makes it possible to optimize the available resources.

In conclusion, the schools built thanks to the Local Development Program of the 145 territories are a real step forward for education in Kasai-Oriental. They offer improved study conditions and contribute to the development of students. This initiative is tangible proof of the importance given to education by local authorities and constitutes real hope for the future of the region.
