IMF mission review in the DRC: Sama Lukonde government congratulated for its progress
A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently completed its mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as part of the preparation for the 5th review of the program between the country and the IMF. Following a meeting with Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, the delegation was optimistic about the progress made by the Congolese government over the past two years.
The head of mission, Calixte Ahokpossi, underlined the importance of this technical mission in preparation for the next review. He welcomed the encouraging progress made since the start of the program and stressed that the 5th review, scheduled for the last two weeks of October, would be followed by a final review in May and June next year to finalize the whole from the program.
This meeting between the IMF delegation and the Prime Minister was also marked by the participation of several members of the government, notably the Minister of State in charge of the Budget, the Minister of Finance, the vice-ministers of Budget and Finance, the Governor of the Central Bank of Congo and other members of the Prime Minister’s Office.

This IMF mission report to the DRC highlights the efforts undertaken by the Sama Lukonde government to implement the economic and financial program agreed with the International Monetary Fund. The progress made so far is encouraging and demonstrates the government’s commitment to modernizing the Congolese economy and improving public finance management.
This IMF mission review in the DRC also offers an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and dialogue between the DRC and the International Monetary Fund. The recommendations and perspectives put forward by the IMF can help the Congolese government maintain its reform efforts and continue progressing on the path to sustainable economic development.

The results of this mission review will be decisive for the DRC, which benefits from the financial support and expertise of the IMF in its economic development and financial stabilization efforts.
However, it is important to emphasize that the implementation of economic and financial reforms remains a challenge, and that the DRC will need to continue to work closely with the IMF and other international partners to overcome obstacles and achieve its development objectives. long-term.
