“Education in Kasaï-Oriental strengthened with the construction of new quality schools thanks to PDL 145”

The schools built as part of the Local Development Program for 145 Territories (PDL 145) in Kasai-Oriental arouse great satisfaction among officials and students. These new infrastructures will improve study conditions for students and working conditions for teachers.

In the Lupatapata territory, for example, three schools have been built and will be ready for use from September. These are the Bakua Tshilanda EP, the Bakua Nzevu EP and the Bakua Tshibuyi EP. These schools are currently being equipped with desks by the agencies responsible for construction, following a call for tenders launched by the Central Coordination Office (BCECO).

School officials express their great satisfaction with these new infrastructures. Before their construction, students studied in precarious conditions, using buildings made from local materials such as bamboo, vines and earth. Some establishments did not even have a table. Thanks to the new schools, students and teachers will finally benefit from an environment conducive to learning and teaching.

In addition, schools are equipped with solar kits to supply the buildings with electrical energy. This will allow establishments to have constant access to electricity, thus improving working and study conditions.

According to Jean Mabi, general director of BCECO, all schools are built according to a standard model, guaranteeing high quality standards and respecting the specific needs of each territory.

This school construction initiative as part of PDL 145 demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to investing in education and improving the learning conditions of students. These new infrastructures will undoubtedly benefit future generations, providing them with optimal educational opportunities and contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
