Congo Airways: Towards an imminent resumption of air activities
The temporary cessation of Congo Airways’ domestic flights has raised many concerns about the future of the national airline. However, according to the head of the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF), Jules Alingete Key, solutions are being developed to guarantee a rapid and effective resumption of the company’s activities.
In a recent meeting with the press, Jules Alingete Key highlighted that Congo Airways had faced serious problems since its launch due to mismanagement by some unscrupulous individuals. He called these individuals “runts” who deliberately sabotaged the company.
Faced with this worrying situation, the general director of Congo Airways met the Prime Minister with the aim of finding immediate solutions. He stressed the need to make funds amounting to between $32 and $100 million available for the rental of two new planes, in order to allow the company’s activities to resume.
The cessation of activities of Congo Airways had a significant impact on air transport in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In a country where flying is the only way to connect major cities, many passengers and businesses now find themselves penalized. This situation also poses an image problem for the country, which wishes to promote its national airline.
Faced with these challenges, it is imperative that the government takes rapid and lasting action to support Congo Airways. The resumption of the company’s activities will be essential to meet the transport needs of the Congolese population, as well as to strengthen the country’s image on the international scene.
In conclusion, the bankruptcy of Congo Airways and the suspension of its national flights have created a worrying situation for air transport in the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, with government support and appropriate measures, it is possible to envisage an imminent resumption of the company’s activities. It is crucial to support Congo Airways to ensure essential air connectivity in the country and preserve national pride.
