The National Cyber Defense Council: a new specialized structure for digital security
The digital landscape is changing at lightning speed and with it, the threats to the security of data and computer systems. In this context, the President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo recently created a new structure specialized in security: the National Cyberdefense Council (CNC).
Endowed with administrative and financial autonomy, the CNC is attached to the Cabinet of the President of the Republic as a specialized service. Its main mission is the coordination of all services related to cyber defense and cyber intelligence. Faced with the proliferation of cybercrime, the CNC plays an essential role in protecting the country’s infrastructure and sensitive data.
At its head, we find Jean-claude Bukasa, appointed Coordinator of the CNC. Drawing on his experience as Special Advisor to the Head of State in matters of security, Jean-Claude Bukasa is recognized as one of the best cybercrime specialists in the country. His appointment brings solid expertise to face the challenges of digital security.
To support Jean-claude Bukasa, two Principal Assistants have been appointed within the National Cyberdefense Council: Mr. Liongo Momanza Jean Julien, in charge of Cyber-intelligence, and Mrs. Kienga Malaika Nathalie, in charge of Cyberdefence. Together, they will be responsible for coordinating protection and monitoring actions in the field of digital security.
The creation of the CNC responds to an urgent need to strengthen defense and security capabilities in the field of cybercrime. Thanks to this specialized structure, the country will be able to better anticipate, prevent and react to computer attacks and threats to data security.
In conclusion, the National Cyber Defense Council marks a new important step in securing the computer systems of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thanks to its autonomy and the competence of its members, this specialized structure will be a major asset in the fight against cybercrime and will guarantee the protection of the country’s sensitive information
