The 9th edition of the Makutano Business Forum will be held on September 20 and 21, 2023 in Abidjan. This major event will bring together more than 150 influential personalities, including heads of government, public decision-makers, private sector leaders and civil society leaders. The objective of this forum is to contribute to the release of intra-African trade potential, estimated at 22 billion dollars.
The Makutano Network, founded by Nicole Sulu, has been facilitating dialogue between private and public decision-makers for a decade. Their ambition is to build a prosperous and inclusive Africa by developing intra-African trade and promoting continental integration. According to Makutano’s management, better regional integration could increase African incomes by 9% by 2035 and create 18 million new jobs. This would strengthen Africa’s private sector, create more competitive markets and accelerate economic diversification. In addition, this creation of wealth would lift 50 million people out of extreme poverty.
The Business Forum Makutano 2023 will be an opportunity for meetings, connections and the generation of new business opportunities. Many high-profile personalities are expected, such as prime ministers, corporate CEOs and managing directors of financial institutions. Participants will have the opportunity to attend interactive work sessions on sectoral and cross-cutting issues, as well as networking sessions to promote exchanges and partnerships. Thematic meetings and closing cocktails will also allow participants to discuss investment opportunities in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Côte d’Ivoire.
The Makutano Business Forum plays a crucial role in promoting intra-African trade and in developing fruitful relationships between private and public actors. By promoting mutual understanding of the challenges and constraints faced by the various stakeholders, it contributes to improving the well-being of African men and women.
In conclusion, the Business Forum Makutano 2023 promises to be an unmissable event for economic actors in Central Africa. It offers a unique opportunity to strengthen intra-African trade, develop partnerships and boost the continent’s economic growth
