“Rehabilitation of the Bunia-Komanda road in Ituri: towards a major improvement in road infrastructure and local development”

In this article, we are going to talk about the news concerning the rehabilitation of the Bunia-Komanda road, located in the province of Ituri in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This road, 75 km long, is currently being worked on in order to improve traffic and make this major road axis more fluid.

The launch of the work took place recently, at the instigation of the military administrator of the Irumu territory, in the presence of the adviser to the military governor in charge of infrastructure. This rehabilitation work is made possible thanks to the determination of the military governor and his commitment to the integral development of Ituri.

The military administration, within the framework of the state of siege in force, is fully involved in the reconstruction of basic infrastructures, as well as in the rehabilitation of road networks of provincial and national interest. This approach aims to enable local development and guarantee the safety of populations.

In parallel, other rehabilitation works are also underway in the region, such as the Aru-Ngote section, which is 160 km long. These initiatives demonstrate the Governor of Ituri’s commitment to improving the province’s road infrastructure, with the aim of fostering economic and social development.

Rehabilitation works on the Bunia-Komanda road consist of road treatment, closure of sloughs and reprofiling of the roadway. The use of local labor and suitable machinery is preferred to ensure the efficient progress of the work. The duration of the work is estimated at 24 months, depending on the terms of financing.

The involvement of local communities is also essential to the success of this project. Local leaders are called upon to collaborate with the security services to protect the works and ensure the safety of road users.

The inhabitants of the region welcome this rehabilitation initiative and express their gratitude to the authorities for having met their needs. This first phase of rehabilitation aims to improve the fluidity of traffic, while a second phase will be devoted to the upkeep and maintenance of the road.

In conclusion, the rehabilitation of the Bunia-Komanda road in Ituri is a major project that demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to the development of the province and the improvement of road infrastructure. This initiative will facilitate travel, promote economic exchanges and strengthen the link between the different communities in the region
