The current period is marked by a rapid evolution of information and communication technologies, leading to an increase in cybercrime. To face this growing challenge, the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, created a new specialized security structure: the National Cyberdefense Council (CNC). This council, placed under the authority of the president, is responsible for coordinating all services related to cyber defense and cyber intelligence.
The appointment of Jean-Claude Bukasa, a recognized specialist in cybercrime, as CNC coordinator, demonstrates the importance attached to this new structure. With administrative and financial autonomy, the CNC’s mission is to protect the country against cyber threats and prevent computer attacks. This appointment also testifies to the President’s desire to strengthen the country’s digital security and to deal with issues related to cybercrime.
Under the direction of Jean-Claude Bukasa, the CNC will have the task of coordinating the efforts of all the defense and security services in the field of cyberdefence. Its role will be crucial in the fight against cybercrime, which represents a real threat to the stability and security of the country.
To fulfill its mission, the CNC will rely on qualified and experienced employees. Mr. Liongo Momanza Jean Julien has been appointed Principal Assistant in charge of cyber-intelligence, while Ms. Kienga Malaïka Nathalie has been appointed Principal Assistant in charge of cyberdefence. These competent personalities will contribute to strengthening the CNC’s capacities in the fight against cybercrime.
At a time when new technologies occupy a central place in our lives, it is essential to strengthen digital security and protect our personal information. The National Cyber Defense Council, under the leadership of Jean-Claude Bukasa, is an important step in this direction and demonstrates the President’s commitment to making digital security a national priority.
In conclusion, the creation of the National Cyberdefense Council and the appointment of Jean-Claude Bukasa as coordinator reflect the government’s desire to strengthen digital security and fight against cybercrime. This new specialized structure will play an essential role in the coordination of defense and security efforts in cyberdefence. Hopefully, these measures will strengthen data protection and digital security in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
