It is crucial that the government continue to enforce this ban to ensure equitable education for all.

Another challenge encountered this year concerns the price of school bus season tickets. The TRANSCO company has revised the prices upwards, which increases the financial burden for parents. It is important that steps are taken to ensure affordable and accessible school transport for all students.

To better understand the situation and the issues related to the return to school in the DRC, Jody Nkashama spoke with Jacques Taty Mwakupemba, national coordinator of the National Federation of Teachers and Social Educators of Congo (FENECO / UNTC).
