Investigations are underway to determine the origin of the fire, but no loss of life has been reported. However, many material possessions were destroyed, causing great distress among the camp residents.
Faced with this situation, Maître Peter Kazadi declared to the press: “In consultation with my colleague from Social Affairs and Humanitarian Action, we are going to prepare a rapid response to try to provide some relief to the families of the victims”.
