The General Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Auditors recently prohibited the former Managing Director of SONAHYDROC, Marcelin Bilomba, from leaving the country. A letter sent to the Director General of the DGM in Kinshasa confirmed this ban on leaving.
According to the correspondence, Bilomba is currently under judicial investigation for facts related to the management of SONAHYDROC. “At the time when the presidential ordinance relieving Mr. Marcellin BILOMBA of his duties as Director General of SONAHYDROC, SA, was taken, a legal file was under investigation in my Office on the social situation and certain facts of the management of this company “, we read in the correspondence.
This action follows a hearing with the Deputy General Manager of the company. The objective was to obtain clarification from the former Managing Director regarding the social situation and the management of this company.
This announcement is a continuation of recent efforts to fight corruption and corporate mismanagement. The decision of the General Prosecutor’s Office to retain the former Managing Director of SONAHYDROC is an example of this. This initiative shows that the authorities are determined to restore good governance and promote transparency in the management of State affairs.
Ultimately, this exit ban on Marcelin Bilomba demonstrates that the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo is taking strong measures to put an end to corruption and corporate mismanagement, and this can only be welcomed.
