“The Ministry of Sports in financial difficulty: an overrun of 27.186 billion Congolese Francs for sports federations”

The Ministry of Sports finds itself in a delicate situation when it has exceeded its credit line reserved for the support of sports federations. According to the credit manager, the excess reached 1,024.64%, which represents an amount of 27.186 billion Congolese Francs.

Initially set at 2.656 billion Congolese Francs, the annual allocation dedicated to sports activities was largely exceeded with a committed amount of 29.842 billion Congolese Francs. This situation worries the sub-manager of appropriations, who points out that the overall budget of the Ministry of Sports is also tending to be overspent, with the exception of remuneration appropriations.

This difficult financial situation raises concerns about the capacity of the Ministry of Sports to ensure the support of sports federations and to support the development of sport in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is crucial that steps are taken to remedy this situation and ensure the financial stability needed to support sports activities and athletes.

The management of appropriations and financial resources is a major issue for any ministry, in particular that of the Ministry of Sports which is responsible for promoting sport and physical activity in the country. It is essential to ensure the adequate allocation of resources and transparent and effective management to avoid such overruns.

In conclusion, the overspending of the line of credit reserved for sports federations by the Ministry of Sports highlights the financial difficulties that the sports sector is facing in the Democratic Republic of Congo
