The populations of the Bakua Njiba groupement, in the Katanda territory (Kasai-Oriental), and the Nvunayi groupement, in the Kabinda territory (Lomami), have recently witnessed violent clashes which have led to loss of human life and damage important materials. Faced with this worrying situation, the national deputy Ntumba Tshiabola launched an appeal for peace and peaceful coexistence between the communities.
In a speech addressed to the populations, the deputy stressed the importance of living together in harmony, recalling that the discovery of a diamond mine should benefit everyone. He also called on authorities in Lomami and Kasai Oriental provinces to act quickly to restore peace and bring those responsible for the violence to justice.
Ntumba Tshiabola also requested the involvement of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Peter Kazadi, in the search for a lasting peace in this pre-election region. He also encouraged the authorities of Kasaï-Oriental to strengthen security measures in the territory of Katanda in order to avoid new conflicts.
The situation in the provinces of Kasai-Oriental and Lomami is worrying, with communal tensions exacerbated by the presence of natural resources, such as diamonds. It is therefore essential that the authorities take concrete measures to promote reconciliation and tolerance between the different communities.
In this pre-election period, it is crucial to maintain stability and security throughout the country. MP Ntumba Tshiabola thus invites all parties concerned to work together to find peaceful solutions to disputes and guarantee an environment conducive to development and prosperity for all.
Reconciliation between the communities of Katanda and Kabinda is a major challenge for peace and stability in the region. It is time to end the violence and promote dialogue and cooperation between populations. Only an inclusive approach that respects everyone’s rights will make it possible to build a harmonious future for all
