“Jean-Claude Muyambo ready to take legal action against the Attorney General following the withdrawal of the wanted notice against Kalev Mutond”

Dissatisfied with the withdrawal of the search notice against Kalev Mutond, the former head of the National Intelligence Agency (ANR), Jean-Claude Muyambo decides to take legal measures. The national president of the Congolese Solidarity for Democracy and Development (SCODE) political party announces that he will take legal action against the Attorney General at the Kinshasa/Gombe Court of Appeal, Robert Kumbu Phanzu.

Jean-Claude Muyambo expresses his disagreement with the decision to cancel the search notice against Kalev Mutond, stressing that the former head of the ANR has never responded to justice and that he has not had the opportunity to confront the charges against him. This decision to withdraw the search notice was taken on Friday, August 11, on the basis that the reasons which justified the search for Kalev Mutond no longer exist.

Jean-Claude Muyambo is himself a former president of the Lubumbashi bar and held the post of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs in the government of Antoine Gizenga. In January 2023, he announced his candidacy for the 2023 presidential election, thus leaving the Sacred Union which supports President Félix Tshisekedi.

In his quest for justice, Jean-Claude Muyambo wants the charges against Kalev Mutond to be investigated and legal action taken to bring the truth to light. His commitment to bringing the Attorney General to justice shows his determination to defend the rights of citizens and to fight against impunity.

This case highlights the importance of respect for justice and fairness in the Congolese legal system. Jean-Claude Muyambo’s actions show his belief that no one should escape accountability under the law, regardless of status or power.

The case of the withdrawal of the wanted notice against Kalev Mutond raises questions about the transparency and independence of the judicial system in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is essential that each individual is treated fairly and that any alleged breaches are investigated impartially and in accordance with the principles of the rule of law.

By following this case, we hope that justice will be served and that the rights of citizens will be protected
