Repression continues in Congo, where the national deputy Raymond Tchedya, elected from the territory of Djugu, calls for the opening of a judicial inquiry following the attack on the site of the displaced persons of Lala. This attack seriously affected civilians, more than 50 of whom died after being shot, beheaded or burned alive. The Lala IDP site is just 7 km from the Plaine Savo site, where Codeco militiamen “twice massacred more than 70 Hema IDPs”.

Tchedya denounces these attacks which would have been perpetrated by the Codeco militiamen, threatening the peace process in the province of Ituri. Despite the signature of the act of commitment of cessation of hostilities, these attacks continue, thus hindering peace. According to the national deputy, each time a peace agreement is signed in the region, large-scale killings ensue.

The MP calls for appropriate assistance to the victims of this attack, including medical care for the injured, a dignified burial for the dead and the construction of houses for the families who lost their burned huts, as well as food and non-food assistance. food for the victims. It also calls on armed groups to respect their signature for the ongoing peace process in Ituri province.
