Vodacom Congo becomes a key partner of the Business Climate Unit of the Presidency of the Republic in the DRC

Vodacom Congo becomes a key partner of the Business Climate Unit of the Presidency of the Republic in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This alliance was announced during the presentation of the report of the first survey of the National Business Climate Barometer (BNCA) organized by the CCA on June 6, 2023.

Vodacom Congo, a subsidiary of Vodafone Group, is a telecommunications company that provides digital solutions such as mobile connectivity, digital financial services, etc. to more than 21 million subscribers and has invested nearly $2 billion in infrastructure. This is why this company is a permanent partner of the Congolese economy.

Ms. Pamela Ilunga, Deputy General Manager of Vodacom Congo and President of the Telecommunications and New Technologies Commission of the Federation of Congo Enterprises (FEC), member of the high-level panel, participated in the presentation of the results of the BNCA. She pleaded for a reduction in the tax burden and the independence of the legal framework, which are the best guarantees for establishing investor confidence.

Vodacom Congo, Platinum sponsor of this event, is a major and reliable partner of the Congolese economy. This public-private partnership will pave the way to economic development and prosperity in the DRC.

In an article based on this major event of the Cellule Climat des Affaires of the Presidency of the Republic, Fatshimetry mentioned other current topics in the DRC, such as voter registration, the inclusion of women in the DRC, the deadly attack on a site for displaced people in the DRC, the boycott of the draft law on the distribution of seats, the OHADA international competition, the Barrick Gold Corporation’s project to save the white rhinos, the candidacy of Hortense Kavuo-Maliro for an inclusive management of the DRC, the observation mission of Jean-Pierre Bemba Ngombo, and the massacre of 41 displaced persons in the province of Ituri.

Finally, the reintroduction of 16 white rhinos to the DRC to preserve biodiversity and improve the future of local communities in Garamba National Park is an exceptional initiative by Kibali Goldmines.

These varied subjects show the diversity and intensity of the news in the DRC, a country that needs public-private partnerships for its development and to face the challenges of tomorrow.
