This Saturday, June 10, 2023, the national pleading final of the OHADA international competition was held at the Catholic University of Congo (UCC). This competition opposed the prestigious universities of the DRC, in particular the UCC, the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), the Protestant University of Congo (UPC) and the National Pedagogical University (UPN).
The outcome of this meeting brought out two students who will represent the DRC at the 14th edition of the OHADA International Competition in September of this year. They are AMINE from UNIKIN and ABDAL YUMULANI Fernand from Master 1 of UCC.
In front of judges LOSENGO Thade, Marie Lydie Makelele, Landry Mpongo, Hervé Bia “Tata N’longi” and Jerry Alphonse Ntetika, the finalists engaged in pleadings against the backdrop of a mock trial. UCC’s Abdallah faced UPN’s Muizu, while Unikin’s Amine faced UPC’s. The performances won over the judges who made a few comments before the announcement of the results.
The OHADA pleading is a scientific and educational activity, which notably makes it possible to popularize OHADA law and familiarize students with this new business law.
As part of the 14th edition of the OHADA International Competition, the DRC will welcome, in Kinshasa, 16 other countries from the OHADA space for the organization of the final phase, the regional phase.
This event, which is a major challenge for young Congolese students, will be an opportunity for the DRC to offer the world the culture and dynamism of its people.
