“Governor of Sankuru meets Professor André Mbata to discuss development and security”

The Governor of Sankuru Province, Me Jules Lodi Emongo held an important meeting with Professor André Mbata, First Vice-President of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The two personalities addressed several essential themes for the development of the province of Sankuru.

Among the subjects discussed, there was first and foremost security, which is a crucial point for the development of the province. The Governor also addressed the issue of the upcoming elections while reaffirming his commitment and his desire to secure the electoral process. The meeting also allowed to discuss the development of the region, in order to align with the development project of 145 territories initiated by the President of the Republic.

The Deputy Director General of the Roads Office was also among those expected at this hearing. Among other things, he revealed that since the order of more than a hundred bridges for the opening up of the country, these have already been deployed throughout the territory.

The Governor of Sankuru seized this opportunity to reaffirm his ambition to set up development projects respecting the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi. He also said he was confident about the success of his mission, because he was able to count on the support of Professor André Mbata and the inhabitants of the region.

The Governor also mentioned the crisis that is shaking the Provincial Assembly in the province of Sankuru, without making any comments on this subject in front of the press.

Finally, Me Jules Lodi Emongo took advantage of this meeting to raise the issue of violence in politics, more specifically political actors posing as string pullers. He urged them to stop these destabilizing acts, otherwise he will remain intractable towards them.

This important meeting demonstrates once again the consideration of the issues of Sankuru by the highest authorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The development and security of this province are essential for the success of the country’s development policy
