“Confirmation of the Francophonie Games in Kinshasa: athletes paid by banking system”

The Francophonie Games will indeed be held in Kinshasa from July 28 to August 6 of this year, confirmed the Minister of Sports François Kabulo Mwana Kabulo, during his presentation to the senators. The latter also responded to the various concerns of the senators raised following an oral question with debate, in particular with regard to the method of payment of the athletes who will take part in this sporting event.

The Minister informed that all athletes and officials, as well as players for the June 18 match, will be paid through the bank system. He added that players were already banked and had their accounts already funded.

In addition, the Minister informed the senators that the salary delay of Sébastien Desabre, the national coach, had been resolved.

This announcement comes as the national team got off to a bad start in qualifying for the 2023 African Cup of Nations. However, a victory against Gabon could allow the Leopards to relaunch their qualification journey.

In sum, the Democratic Republic of Congo continues to face challenges in various sectors such as security, education and politics. However, the country seems to want to move forward despite everything, with the implementation of new agricultural programs, the clarification of the eligibility of its citizens and the organization of important sporting events such as the Games of La Francophonie.
