“The Governor of Central Congo: New engines for the river ferry! A sustainable solution to open up the Luozi region!”

The Governor of Kongo Central, Guy Bandu Ndungidi, has just announced good news for the population of the region. The Office des Routes recently acquired two new engines for the broken down river ferry. This acquisition will restore traffic within the next two weeks, once the engines are installed.

When the breakdown of the ferry was reported, Guy Bandu immediately reacted by sending a team from the Office des Routes to the site to carry out the necessary repairs. While waiting for the final solution, a small engine ferry with a capacity of 15 tonnes has been made available to the population, thus making it possible to maintain a certain level of traffic.

However, the Governor of Kongo Central is not content to find temporary solutions. He is also considering ways to open up the Luozi territory in a more sustainable way. Two solutions are considered. In the medium term, the acquisition of a larger capacity ferry, capable of carrying up to 200 tonnes, is envisaged. This acquisition would considerably improve the transport of agricultural products from Luozi to neighboring regions, and even to the capital Kinshasa.

In the longer term, Guy Bandu is also considering the construction of a bridge that would connect the two banks of the Congo River. Feasibility studies are already underway to assess the viability of such a project.

The opening up of the Luozi territory is of capital economic importance for the province of Kongo Central. It would facilitate trade and the evacuation of agricultural products, thus promoting the economic development of the region.

In conclusion, thanks to the acquisition of two new motors for the river ferry, the population of Kongo Central will soon be able to return to regular traffic. However, the Governor is not limited to temporary solutions and is considering more lasting measures to open up the territory of Luozi
