Political tensions in the Democratic Republic of Congo have peaked in recent weeks with the crackdown on political space, the crackdown on the Opposition march, disrupted sit-ins and imprisoned opponents. In a video posted on social networks, political columnist Omer Nsongo die Lema urges President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi to correct the situation and choose the areas of democracy, the rule of law and human rights.
The columnist recalls that the Union for Democracy and Social Progress -UDPS- was the party soul of the opposition for 29 years. He also mentioned recent power gaps that recall the decline of past regimes. Omer Nsongo dit Lema warns the Head of State, already on the line of sight of the West, on the consequences that result from not assuming his commitments for the Congolese people.
This video comes after the words of Moïse Katumbi who recalled his fight against Kabila and warned that repression could come from everyone, but not from the President. Citizens hope that politicians will take action to honor their commitments to the Congolese people
