The 9th Francophone Games in Kinshasa: An extraordinary sporting and cultural event that will remain etched in our memories

The 9th Francophonie Games taking place in Kinshasa have animated the international sports and cultural scene in recent days. This edition, considered the finest and most grandiose in the history of the games of the Francophonie according to the Director of the National Games Committee, Isidore Kwandja, experienced unprecedented enthusiasm from participants and the public.

The sports competitions and cultural contests took place in the best possible conditions, with packed gymnasiums and an optimal level of security to ensure the tranquility of the athletes and the public. Sunday August 6 will mark the end of these exceptional games. For this event, two renowned artist-musicians, Maître Gims and Ferré Gola, have been chosen to host the evening. The choice of these two Congolese talents highlights the rich cultural heritage of the DRC, both nationally and internationally recognized.

The closing ceremony will be chaired by the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi, who will symbolically pass the torch to the host country of the next edition of the Francophonie games. A unique opportunity to celebrate Francophone fraternity and highlight the central role of the DRC in this community.

Isidore Kwandja warmly invites the Congolese public to come en masse to the Martyrs stadium to take part in this memorable closing evening. He points out that the organization of these games was carried out brilliantly, highlighting the DRC’s ability to host large-scale international events.
