The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and his counterpart in charge of Finance, urged this Monday, June 5 during a co-hosted briefing, the importance of the trip of the Head of State and members of the government in China. The visit, marked by the signing of cooperation agreements between China and the DRC, aimed to relaunch bilateral cooperation, marked by the enhancement of natural resources and the enhancement of a triangular partnership with new economic actors.
Nicolas Kazadi, the Minister of Finance, underlines the interest of a triangular partnership “DRC-China or Europe or the United States” in the interest of new initiatives in terms of investments. Moreover, the partnership concluded between the DRC and China is broken with all exclusivities, giving the possibility to each of the partners to link up with other partners, insofar as their first choice, including counterparts, is free for them to establish emerging partnerships.
These officials also made it clear that this visit to China was not aimed at negotiations, the DRC being an open country and not offered. It is therefore rather the restitution of a state visit by the President of the Republic Tshisekedi allowing the search for a win-win partnership between the two countries. We therefore need bold men who have imagination, who create wealth and employment, underlined Christophe Lutundula, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In short, President Tshisekedi’s visit to China affirmed the desire of two countries to work together and generate a triangular partnership by opening up to other economic actors.
