“The financial authorities of the DRC: a record mobilization of 1,724.1 billion FC to support the development of the country”

The financial authorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continue to play a crucial role in the mobilization of resources to support the development of the country. According to a recent report by the Central Bank of Congo (BCC), these authorities managed to mobilize an impressive amount of 1,724.1 billion Congolese Francs (CDF), or the equivalent of 853 million US dollars. This represents 75.2% of the expected monthly budget allocations, demonstrating their effectiveness in revenue collection.

The BCC report highlights the significant contribution of the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) and the General Directorate of Customs and Excise (DGDA) in mobilizing these resources. The DGI managed to collect 1,093.9 billion Congolese Francs (CDF) while the DGDA mobilized 388.0 billion Congolese Francs (CDF). In addition, the General Directorate of Administrative, Judicial, State and Participation Revenue (DGRAD) also played an important role in collecting 242.2 billion Congolese Francs (CDF) in non-tax revenue.

These figures bear witness to the commitment of the DRC’s financial authorities to ensure better management of the country’s financial resources. Their ability to mobilize funds at a high level helps finance national priorities such as infrastructure, education, health and other key development sectors.

However, it is important to emphasize that the mobilization of financial resources should not be at the expense of transparency and accountability. It is essential that the financial authorities take care to guarantee rigorous management of the funds collected and to fight against corruption and the misuse of resources.

In a context where the DRC continues to face significant economic and social challenges, it is crucial that the revenue generated by the financial authorities be used efficiently and equitably for the benefit of all citizens.

In conclusion, the impressive mobilization of resources by the financial authorities of the DRC is a positive sign of their capacity to contribute to the development of the country. However, it is necessary to maintain a high level of transparency and accountability to ensure optimal use of these funds
