The Council of Ministers held its 100th meeting under the leadership of President Félix Tshisekedi. The meeting which was held in person was an opportunity for the Head of Government Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde to salute the constancy and leadership of the President of the Republic in the conduct of the meetings of the Council of Ministers.
Despite the worrying security situation in eastern DRC, the government has highlighted the regularity of meetings of the Council of Ministers as tangible proof of the functioning of our institutions and the stability of our State.
Since its inauguration in April 2021, the Sama Lukonde government has recently undergone a technical reorganization with the entry of major figures on the Congolese political scene such as Vital Kamerhe, VPM Minister of National Economy, and Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo, VPM Minister of National Defense and Veterans Affairs.
It is important to emphasize that despite the security challenges, President Félix Tshisekedi remains committed to the development of the country. The 0.6% rise in the national currency on the official foreign exchange market denotes economic stability in the DRC.
However, the country still faces security challenges with the persistence of violence in the eastern part of the DRC, as was the case with the clash between jihadists and the army which led to the death of six jihadists.
Finally, the Governor of the Province of Lituri issued an ultimatum to the armed groups following the visit of the ICC Prosecutor, thus affirming his commitment to defending the security of the province.
