Félix Tshisekedi participates in the 10th conference of the CIRGL to find a solution to the security situation in the DRC.

The security situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo was the focus of the 10th ICGLR conference held in Luanda, Angola. President Félix Tshisekedi took part and the meeting at the initiative of the Angolan Head of State was the continuation of the initiatives around the roadmap of Luanda relating to insecurity in the East of the DRC.

During this conference, the Heads of State and their representatives present in Luanda continued their work behind closed doors, before producing a final communiqué.

In addition, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, current President of the CIRGL, and mediator appointed to facilitate dialogue between the DRC and the Republic of Rwanda, announced the holding, in the coming days in Luanda , a quadripartite meeting including the East African Community (EAC), the ICGLR and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), under the coordination of the African Union.

The Heads of State also mentioned during this conference, the deterioration of the situation in Khartoum in Sudan, which testifies to a complete work of follow-up of major events in Africa.

Félix Tshisekedi’s participation in this conference attests to his determination to find a rapid solution to the security situation in the DRC, and to work with neighboring countries to guarantee peace and stability in the sub-region.
