The armed forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) entered into conflict with the jihadists of the democratic and allied forces (ADF) in the sector of Rwenzori, territory of Beni, on May 31. The soldiers had to face the elements of this foreign rebellion and succeeded in killing six of them, destroying one of their strongholds and recovering three weapons of war, according to the military authorities on the spot.
The collaboration of the population with the army is essential to overcome the enemy, the military officials said. They invited the populations to cooperate more with the armed forces to improve security in the region.
The images of the fighting are available, and show the determination of the FARDC to put an end to insecurity in the region.

However, despite these positive events, there are several areas of concern, such as police repression during the recent elections or the assassination of a civil society leader in Beni. The country is plagued by growing insecurity, and it is time to implement effective measures to address it
