The precarious security situation in the DRC: the Common Front for Congo is sounding the alarm

The security situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, at least according to the criticisms of the Front Commun pour le Congo (FCC), seems precarious. The opposition platform, led by former President Joseph Kabila, expressed its dissatisfaction with the security policy and territorial integrity preserved by the regime in place. The FCC denounces in particular the abandonment of part of the country to foreign forces, alluding to the contingents of the regional force of the member countries of the East African Community which operate in the zones formerly occupied by the terrorists of the M23.

The FCC also criticizes the security situation in the western part of the country, marked by the interethnic conflict between the Teke-Yaka communities in the territory of Kwamouth, in Mai-ndombe. Inter-ethnic clashes affected other provinces of the Grand-Bandundu area and reached the outskirts of Kinshasa.

Other points are also raised by the FCC, in particular the instrumentalization of the judiciary and the chaotic management of the country characterized by tribalism, the ostentatious embezzlement of public funds, corruption, misappropriation, illicit enrichment.

While some articles report significant progress in terms of security in eastern DRC, the statement by the Front Commun pour le Congo recalls that the overall situation in the country remains worrying and that the government in place must do more to guarantee security. people and property.

It is therefore necessary that the Congolese authorities do more to support the internal security of the country while ensuring the territorial integrity of their nation. Diplomacy and collaboration with international forces can help in this regard. This is all the more important in this difficult period marked by an unprecedented health crisis and a fragile economy.
