“The Football Club Renaissance du Congo becomes the Olympique Club Renaissance: A new era begins”

The Football Club Renaissance du Congo is now known under a new name: the Olympique Club Renaissance. This change of identity will take effect from Thursday, July 27, 2023. The decision was taken by the management of the club, which justified this change mainly because of the requirements of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for obtaining the FCA license. With this transformation, the club is now positioned as an all-sports club.

During the ordinary and elective general meeting held the same day, Maxime Selemani was elected president of the coordination of the Olympique Club Renaissance. However, the post of vice-president remains vacant for the time being. As for the club secretariat, it remains under the responsibility of Moboti and Willy Kindembe, who returns as an advisor to this new committee.

It should be noted that a statutory meeting will be organized in the coming days to officially validate the transfer of Football Club Renaissance to Olympique Club Renaissance.

This change of identity was necessary for the club to comply with CAF requirements and thus be able to participate in continental competitions with a CAF license.

The new Olympique Club Renaissance du Congo is engaged in Linafoot D1 and will play its first match against AS Maniema-Union on September 3, in Kindu. This match will take place as part of the first day of the elite national championship, Linafoot D1, for the 2023-24 season.

This transfer marks a new era for the club, which hopes to achieve good results both nationally and continentally. The Olympique Club Renaissance du Congo is ready to take on new challenges as a multi-sports club and to proudly represent the Democratic Republic of Congo
