News: Agreement signed between the CNSS and the ONT for the late payment of contributions
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) and the National Tourist Office (ONT) to settle the late payment of ONT contributions. Following an account mission carried out in January 2021, the CNSS noted that the ONT had arrears of contributions to settle.
Faced with this situation and the cash flow difficulties of the ONT, the two parties agreed on a payment plan spread over five monthly installments, with a fixed amount set at 160 million Congolese francs. This sum will make it possible to take care of ONT retirees, who have not benefited from their rights for years.
The director general of the ONT, Jolie Yombo Mukendi, underlined that it was thanks to the collaboration between the teams of the CNSS and the ONT that this agreement could be concluded. She also expressed her desire to guarantee the rights and pensions of ONT retirees.
This agreement will be evaluated every three months, and in the event of a dispute, both parties have agreed to seek an amicable resolution before the competent courts.
This is an important step in settling overdue ONT dues and supporting pensioners who have been waiting for their rights for a long time. It also demonstrates the willingness of the institutions to work together to find solutions to financial problems and ensure the social protection of workers.
This agreement is an example of the importance of collaboration between public bodies and financial institutions to overcome economic difficulties. The CNSS and the ONT have demonstrated a proactive and responsible approach to solving this problem and guaranteeing the well-being of workers.
In conclusion, this agreement between the CNSS and the ONT for the late payment of contributions is a significant step forward in the social protection of workers and the regularization of payments. It shows the importance of cooperation between the different actors to guarantee workers’ rights and ensure financial stability within companies
