“The Democratic Republic of Congo: between social unrest, mining potential and sustainable development”

The article that I propose to you today concerns recent events in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We are going to address various hot topics that have caught the attention in recent days.

In a first article entitled “Camp Lufungula: the social discontent of the families of police officers in Kinshasa”, we are interested in the difficult situation that the families of the police officers are going through. This camp, located in Kinshasa, is the scene of protests and demands for better living and working conditions. The families of the police denounce in particular the low salaries, the precarious housing conditions and the delays in the payment of salaries.
