“President Tshisekedi supports campaign to control subcontracting in Kinshasa to guarantee workers’ rights”

Outsourcing is a common practice in many companies, especially in the private sector. It allows a company to delegate certain activities to another service provider, often specialized, in order to gain in efficiency and competitiveness. However, it is crucial that this practice be framed by adequate regulations to prevent abuse and guarantee workers’ rights. It is with this in mind that President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo recently discussed with the Honorable Miguel Kashal, Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP), on the control campaign subcontracting activities in Kinshasa companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The main mission of the ARSP is to ensure the application of regulations on subcontracting in the private sector. These regulations aim to prevent abusive practices and protect the rights of workers. As part of its control campaign, the ARSP has already visited several sectors of the economy, such as infrastructure, telecommunications, breweries and aeronautics. These checks aim to verify that the companies comply with the legal obligations in terms of subcontracting, particularly in terms of working conditions, remuneration and social protection of workers.

The report on the control of subcontracting activities in all sectors of the national economy will soon be published. This initiative aims to promote transparency and inform economic players of current practices. In addition, the ARSP plans to extend its control campaign to other provinces of the country, in order to guarantee the compliance of companies with the regulations on subcontracting throughout the Congolese territory.

President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo’s support for the ARSP is a strong signal of the importance given to the regulation of subcontracting in the private sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By supporting the control and application of the law, the president wishes to position Congolese companies in the field of subcontracting and guarantee dignified working conditions for workers.

In conclusion, the campaign to control subcontracting activities in Kinshasa companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo is an important step towards better regulation of subcontracting and increased protection of workers’ rights
