The fair for young Congolese entrepreneurs, organized by the Fondation le Parrain, was held on June 1, 2023 in the city of Lubumbashi. The objective of these meetings was to allow young Congolese entrepreneurs to present their innovative projects and obtain funding to develop them.
The event was marked by a panel made up of young entrepreneurs who had benefited from the support of the Fondation le Parrain. The presentation of their projects aroused a lot of interest and was followed by the presentation of diplomas of merit by the vice-governor of the province.
Five candidates were selected to obtain seed funding and personalized support for their projects. Prime Sausage, Kalwezia, Mr Tomate, Green Life and KMS Agri each received a check worth US$10,000 to develop their respective projects.
The president of the Fondation le Parrain, Passy Mukoma, underlined the importance of the entrepreneurship of young Congolese in the development of the country’s economy. The missions of the Fondation le Parrain are to promote youth entrepreneurship, to ensure the empowerment of Congolese women and girl mothers and to fight against social inequalities.
This event demonstrates the vitality of the Congolese entrepreneurial sector and the importance of supporting young project leaders. The Godfather Foundation is thus positioned as a key player in supporting entrepreneurship and economic development in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
