The Democratic Republic of Congo is preparing to host the 9th edition of the Francophonie Games, a competition to be held from July 28 to August 6 in Kinshasa. The construction and renovation of the sports infrastructure, which must host the competitions, is progressing at high speed, according to concordant sources. The Tata Raphaël stadium, one of the competition sites, is undergoing a real makeover. The work is progressing almost everywhere and on all levels and there remains only the laying of the lawn and the minor finishing touches.
Officials of the company Alliance des Bâtisseurs Congolais (ABC), a consortium of local companies responsible for the work, explain that the renovation of the historic stadium, almost 80% complete, was carried out with exemplary professionalism. The enclosing walls are in place, three entrance models are in progress, and in particular the building, the bleacher, the tartan track, the concreting of which has been carried out with care. Only one downside was raised, the initial plan did not take into account all the important aspects, such as the chairs, the perimeters, etc. Thus, some additional work was carried out to restore the initial plan. The ABC says it is confident about the finish and the quality of the work at the Tata Raphaël stadium.
Anthony Mabika, in charge of mission and communication of the ABC, believes that the Congolese contractors are capable of carrying out high quality work, as evidenced by the real cure from the ground up applied to the Tata Raphaël stadium. The dynamics of the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi, driven to make Congolese entrepreneurs millionaires in the DRC, is proof of the political will on his part.
The renovation of the Tata Raphaël stadium is an important step, which announces a high level competition for the Games of La Francophonie
