Pascaline Zamuda appointed deputy director of FONHAB to improve social housing in the DRC
The Head of State of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has appointed Ms. Pascaline Zamuda as Deputy Director General of the National Housing Fund (FONHAB) during an appointment ceremony at the national channel (RTNC) on May 25. This social entrepreneur and gender consultant is also president of the NGO Recovery Framework for Youth Development (CREEIJ Asbl) and a member of the Association of Women in the Media of South Kivu.
She has campaigned against sexual violence in the DRC for more than 10 years, particularly in the eastern part of the country. His appointment aims to promote the construction of social housing, and FONHAB was created for this reason by the government in 2018. intended for the financing of activities in the housing sector, to finance the construction by the State of affordable housing, to grant financial assistance to owners for carrying out heavy work or improving their habitats, promote public-private partnership (PPP) in the field of housing, and to help cooperatives and mutuals operating in the housing sector with a view to providing housing of economic standing and very economical.”
This appointment will make it possible to take concrete measures to solve the problem of the housing crisis in the DRC and to meet the needs of populations who are looking for accessible social housing.
