“Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi launches a workshop for the pacification of Ituri province: delegates from Ituri communities invited to discuss the root causes of insecurity.”

The Minister of State, Minister of Regional Integration, Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi, launches a workshop on the security situation in the province of Ituri. As part of their reflection, the delegates of all the Iturian communities living in Kinshasa are invited to speak frankly about the root causes of the insecurity that weaken their province.

The objective of this workshop is to shed light on the resurgence of armed groups that commit serious abuses against the civilian population. In a memo given to Minister of State Mbusa Nyamwisi, Félix Kabuizi, the president of the “iturian” community of Kinshasa recalled four important current events: the state of siege, the problem of the election of a new Governor in Ituri, the need for intra- and inter-community dialogue as well as the restoration of State authority in the region.

Mbusa Nyamwisi undertakes to work for the arrival of the pacification of the eastern part of the DRC. He stresses that no one can claim to be a candidate for the regional integration morocco if he has not previously created or promoted a climate of peace within border populations.

The Minister of State promised to make a plea to his hierarchy to organize the dialogue for peace in Ituri. He is of the opinion that the cessation of hostilities will allow the improvement of the security situation, the free movement of people and their goods on different roads and the emergence of integration projects.

The Ituri region, with its mining and oil resources as well as its forest ecosystem, has great potential to be exploited. It is therefore important for everyone to get involved in the search for lasting peace in order to promote their socio-economic development.

In short, this workshop marks an important step towards the pacification of the East of the DRC with regard to the situation in Ituri. The search for peace is essential for the development of the region and the promotion of the free movement of people and goods, which is essential for the emergence of many integrating projects necessary for economic growth. By working together, the different communities present in the province of Ituri will be able to find concrete solutions to establish and maintain peace in the region.
