The IX Games of La Francophonie: Kinshasa ready for an exceptional sporting and cultural celebration

The IX Games of La Francophonie are fast approaching and Kinshasa is ready to host this event of international scope. According to Isidore Kwandja, director of the national games committee, all preparations have been finalized and the infrastructure is ready to receive delegations from fifteen participating countries. The atmosphere is both feverish and exciting in the Congolese capital, where the excitement of the games is already felt.

In an interview with Radio Okapi, Isidore Kwandja announced that entry to the Martyrs stadium for the opening ceremony will be free, stressing however that it will be necessary to be in possession of a bracelet to access it. A policy put in place to guarantee fluidity and safety during this event awaited by all.

The IX Games of La Francophonie will take place from July 28 to August 6, offering a unique sporting, cultural and artistic spectacle. This event will put French-speaking athletes and artists from different backgrounds in competition, thus encouraging cultural exchanges and the promotion of the French language.

Catherine Kathungu Furaha, Minister of Culture and Arts and Heritage, Freddy Kadiata, Deputy National Director in charge of technological and computer issues of the National Games Committee, as well as Louis-Magloire Keumayou, Cameroonian journalist, writer and President of the Club of African information, were invited to share their perspectives on the organization of these games during a program entitled “Dialogue between Congolese”.

The challenge for the Democratic Republic of Congo is to deliver quality games and to showcase the country’s cultural and sporting heritage. It is also an opportunity to strengthen ties with other French-speaking countries and to promote Congo’s image on the international scene.

Holding the IX Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa is a major event that will highlight the dynamism and potential of the country.
