The Games of La Francophonie 2023 in Kinshasa: A major investment in stage equipment to promote Congolese culture.

The Congolese Government attaches great importance to the organization of the Francophonie Games which will take place in Kinshasa from July 28 to August 6, 2023. This is evidenced by the release of more than 3 million US dollars for the purchase of stage equipment for this event. This announcement was made during a briefing organized by the Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya.

According to Isidore Kwandja Ngembo, director of the National Committee for the organization of the Games of La Francophonie, this investment in stage equipment will fill a major need in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, despite the presence of many talented musicians, the country suffers from a lack of sophisticated studios for local production.

Thanks to the Francophonie Games, these stage materials will remain in the country and contribute to the promotion of Congolese culture. In addition, the construction of the infrastructure necessary for this event was mainly carried out by Congolese entrepreneurs, which is a source of pride for the country.

The Minister of Culture, Catherine Furaha, also stressed the importance of the participation of the DRC in this competition. The country fields competitors in 11 disciplines, ranging from dance and song to painting, sculpture, photography and many more. The preselections have started since 2019 and the DRC intends to show the world its many talents.

This visit to the infrastructures in anticipation of the Games of La Francophonie bears witness to the Congolese government’s commitment to making this event a real success. Investments in stage equipment, as well as the active participation of the DRC in different disciplines, show the country’s desire to promote its culture and its artists.

The Games of La Francophonie 2023 will therefore be an opportunity for the DRC to make itself known on the international scene and to demonstrate all its talent and creativity. Congolese artists will thus have the opportunity to perform in optimal conditions, thanks to the equipment acquired for the event. This is an important step in the development of the Congolese cultural scene and in the enhancement of the country’s rich artistic heritage.

In conclusion, the investment in stage equipment for the Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa testifies to the importance given by the Congolese government to culture and the promotion of local artists. This event will be a real showcase for the DRC, which will be able to highlight its talent and artistic diversity. The benefits of these Games will not be limited to the event itself, but will also contribute to strengthening the country’s cultural sector in the long term
