“Strong commitment of civil society actors for inclusive and responsible governance in Kasaï: a training workshop on advocacy successfully organized”

The implementation of the inclusive governance project in Kasaï (GIK) in the province of Kasaï continues to generate the commitment and involvement of civil society actors. As part of this joint initiative led by the United Nations Human Rights Office (UNJHRO), UN Women and the NGO World Vision, a workshop was organized to train members of civil society, as well as youth and women’s structures, on advocacy techniques with political and administrative authorities.

Based on the information collected on the spot, the participants in this workshop identified the main concerns affecting their communities. Among these are the issue of persistent insecurity in the city of Tshikapa, the shortage of drinking water and chronic insalubrity problems.

This workshop was an opportunity for Virginie Musuamba, an officer at the UNJHRO, to emphasize the importance of the active involvement of young people and women in this advocacy process. She encouraged participants to take their role seriously and work together to bring about positive change in their respective communities.

This event was held within the grounds of the parish of Saint-André, located in the commune of Dibumba 1. It was part of the broader framework of the inclusive governance project in Kasaï, which aims to strengthen the participation of all actors in society in decision-making processes and to improve the accountability of political and administrative authorities.

In conclusion, this advocacy training workshop allowed participants to better understand the mechanisms and tools needed to defend their concerns and promote the development of their communities. This initiative demonstrates the commitment of civil society actors in building more inclusive and responsible governance in Kasai
