Through a decree signed on July 18, 2023, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, Security and Customary Affairs announced the new heads of sectors in the territories of the various provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This decision aims to renew and strengthen the sectoral administration in the country.

In the territory of Beni, in North Kivu, new heads of sectors have been appointed. The Ruwenzori sector will now be headed by Kasereka Mapathi Japhet, replacing Boozi Sindiwako Bin Vuhaka who had been in office for more than 12 years. In the Beni-Mbau sector, Kakule Bulembo Pascal will take the reins, succeeding Paluku Lumande Remy.

This list also extends to other territories and sectors. In Lubero territory, the Bapere sector will be led by Muhindo Sivikunula Macaire. In the territory of Masisi, Kichengele Bazungu Jacques will take charge of the Katoyi sector and Kipanda Mungo Biiri will lead the Osso-Banyungu sector. Finally, in Walikale territory, Selemani Bwani Kitunda will be the new head of the Bakano sector, while Petro Limbisa Alpha will head the Wanianga sector.

It is important to note that heads of sectors appointed in provinces under a state of siege will not take office until this exceptional measure has been lifted.

This appointment of new heads of sectors demonstrates the government’s commitment to strengthening local administration and ensuring better governance at the territorial level. These new appointments will also bring a breath of fresh air and dynamism to the management of local affairs.

The establishment of new heads of sectors will bring new ideas, skills and perspectives to meet the needs of the population and contribute to the development of the territories concerned.

This renewal of sector heads reflects the Congolese government’s desire to promote stability, security and development at all levels of administration. It is essential to put in place competent and committed people to ensure efficient management of the sectors and meet the expectations of citizens.

In conclusion, the appointment of new heads of sectors in North Kivu and other territories of the DRC is an important decision to strengthen the administration and improve local governance. These new appointments will bring new perspectives and skills to support the development of the territories and meet the needs of the population.
