Sports news: The U20 Leopards of the DRC are preparing for the Games of La Francophonie

One week before the start of the 9th Games of La Francophonie, the U20 Leopards of the DRC are actively preparing to represent their country at this international competition. According to Sabin Mashini, vice-president of the normalization committee in charge of competitions, the players will be interned in the village of games from next Sunday.

“The U20 Leopards have not yet been grouped together, because we had the advantage of organizing and participating in the Fatshi Cup and UNIFAC. So we let them rest a bit. But the grouping will start this Sunday and we will have our Olympic residence on campus”, explains Sabin Mashini.

He assures that there will be no delays as most of the players are local and only three expatriate players have been called up. Tickets are already available for these players and the necessary financial means have been raised thanks to funds allocated by the government and those of La Francophonie.

The Francophonie Games football tournament will be held from July 27 to August 6, with two days off on August 3 and 5. The matches will be played at different stadiums around the city, with the Tata Raphael Stadium and the Martyrs Stadium hosting the most important fixtures.

DRC Leopards U20 are determined to put on a good show in this international competition. The players are motivated and ready to give their best to proudly represent their country. Their preparation continues intensely, with training on different terrains and rigorous physical preparation.
