News: Launch of completion works on the RN 5 road between Bukavu and Kamaniola
In order to improve the living conditions of the populations of the province of South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Head of State Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo has instructed the Minister of State for Infrastructure and Public Works, Alexis Gisaro, to launch the work to complete National Road N°5 (RN 5), between Bukavu and Kamaniola.
This road, long neglected and in a deplorable state, made circulation between the two cities very difficult for the inhabitants. Indeed, the latter were sometimes forced to go through neighboring countries, notably Rwanda, to reach their destination, which was unacceptable.
In order to put an end to this regrettable situation, the President of the Republic has given clear instructions for carrying out this work, within the framework of the Joint Syno Programme. This is how the Minister Alexis Gisaro, accompanied by the Minister of the Budget, Aimé Boji, went there to proceed to the official launch of the works.
This initiative is part of President Tshisekedi’s vision to promote the social and economic development of the country, by ensuring the improvement of transport infrastructure. Indeed, the RN 5 road is a strategic axis that will facilitate trade and promote the development of the region.
Minister Gisaro stressed the importance of this project to meet the aspirations of the population. He also expressed his determination to implement the instructions of the Head of State and to carry out this crucial work for the province of South Kivu.
This launch of work on the RN 5 road between Bukavu and Kamaniola is a major step forward for the population of the region. It will not only make it easier to connect these two cities, but also stimulate the local economy by facilitating the transport of goods.
The Congolese government is thus mobilizing to make President Tshisekedi’s vision a reality and improve the living conditions of the population through essential infrastructure projects.
